I don't know how we are supposed to manage your solution to #2 when we've spent the last year and a half pissing off everyone who would normally help us.

What would the gulf states do, exactly? At this point in time there is no solution to defending complex and fragile infrastructure against drone attacks. None. If there was Russia would already be doing it. And, just saying, we need to keep in mind that half of our refined fuels (both gasoline and diesel) come from about three dozen refineries on the Texas and Louisiana Gulf Coasts. And we have zero defenses in place against something unfortunate happening to them as well.

As for publicizing plans, I guess you are an adherent to the "Don Tzu" theory of warfare:

I have never indicated others should or shouldn't do the EV thing; just that they are not for me. I have always advocated for people to use their resouces wisely. If EV works for them, that'd be a good move. Those that are significantly affected by today's prices probably can't afford to switch to an EV either.

From NATO's standpoint, a United States trapped in a tarpit in the Middle East is a United States that can't invade Greenland or Canada.

And by the way, a United States trapped in a tarpit in the Middle East is also a United States in a poor position to object meaningfully when parts of the country secede.

This is nothing new and has been known for decades. So is the current solution that repeatedly fails.
Still trying to figure out how this is better than the agreed solution that had international support that was trashed out of ignorance and arrogance.

Honesty... I think he just wanted to know what it was like to be the one in charge of killing. Sad, unfortunate and unforgivable.
