taco bell drive thru /not a bike under florida law/class action lawsuit?

so my ebike with handicapped sticker was kicked out of a taco bell drive thru ..they say they don't serve bikes..
I asked if the served motorcycles and that I was exactly that a motorized cycle with a handicapped sticker they refused to serve me 1350 W Brandon Fl. and threatened to call the cops If I did not leave.... so 10 min latter down the road 2201 SR 60....(on the same hwy) taco bell served me... I have driven thru other locations without issue...is this a class action lawsuit..
has any one else tried this? I think I have it all on 360 video ( .haven't checked helmet cam yet)
so I filed a complaint on line yesterday and gave them a call today...
It will be disturbing if they continue down this path of discrimination of motorized vehicles with handicapped stickers..
I'll bet their are more than a few lawyers who would like a bite out of that Taco Bell..
I just want then to change policies...preventing my handicapped vehicle ,,,expecting no more/ less than any motor vehicle...since the state of Florida see's me as such..
any thoughts?
 
Most restaurants with a drive-thru don't serve bicycles due to safety reasons. I'm not sure what the cutoff is for ebike vs motorcycle, and ultimately individual restaurants may or may not follow their own rules. When I worked at McDonalds I would serve people on bikes or even walking up, I didn't care if we weren't supposed to since it was just hungry people needing some food.

Either way I doubt there is any merit for a lawsuit here. Private businesses can have whatever rules they want for using their drive thru, and refusing to serve bikes has merit as a safety concern. I understand that you have good reason to use your ebike, but you could easily order using the McDonald's mobile app or website and then pick it up on your ebike, they'll bring it right out to you in the parking lot.
 
Yeah it all depends, Ive gone thru drive thrus on my ebike in Central Florida some care some don't...just forget it and move onto to the next drive thru, not like theres a lack of em :p
 
I was almost booted out of a tim horton's drive through on my ebike. She asked if my bike was motorized and was left alone after I said it had a motor. I stopped supporting them after this, not to mention the high price on a dozen pre-frozen donuts.
 
Your end goal is for ebike guests to be welcome at the drive thru. I'd advocate this @tacobell on Twitter. They'll respond. No need for legal matters and such.

Taco bell discriminated against my handicapped ebike...why I don't know,,,
I am clearly a motor Vehicle with a handicapped sticker and should have been treated accordingly...
they show no signs of remorse ,,,for my inconvenience and frustration..
you would think lawyers would be trying to kiss my axx..? maybe they need to see the video first???

No bikes in the drive thru lane at my bank or pharmacy either. Never occurred to me to even want to use it with 4 ton pickup trucks with hoods as tall as my shoulders pulling in behind me either ...
 
Most if not all drive thru’s in my area don’t allow bicycles or pedestrian walk ups.
Also, I believe many use a weight sensor at the order station in order to determine that a vehicle is there. I can’t see a bicycle tripping the sensor......do you jump up and down to get their attention?!?

they could see me and managed to refuse service and we almost carry on a conversation,, they refused to answer my question "if they served motor cycles", they threaten to call the cops If I didn't leave...
very rude....very wrong...

How the hell would they know a bicycle is a disabled vehicle? because you had a sticker on the bike? who would notice such a thing? who would even know what it even meant?
 
Is it actually considered a motor vehicle? I don't think just because it has a motor classifies it as a motor vehicle. A typical motor vehicle requires a license plate, brake lights, turn signals....etc.
