Suspension Seat Posts

Just for those who already have a Suntour seat post, don't disregard the optional springs if you fall outside the range of the stock spring. I have 2 Suntours on two bikes, and since I'm a big guy I ordered one heavy spring to try and compare them head to head. While the stock spring certainly does OK for city/gravel use when stiffened up significantly, the heavy spring gave the post new life. Definitely retains much more range and effectiveness without the need to crank it down within an inch of it's life (or travel :) ). I suspect the experience would be similar at the other end of the spectrum for lighter riders too.

Same would go for most any post with adjustable springs or elastomers. Just like forks and rear shocks, getting the spring rate right is the first step to truly maximizing the performance.

Once somebody figures out how to add air and adjustable damping to a non-dropper style, we'll really be in business! lol
