Does anyone have some tips on how to change the pedals on a SC2 GX Rohloff? There is nowhere to attach a pedal spanner as far as I can tell, so getting purchase to loosen the Allen nuts is not easy.
An update. I remember there is someone in the village who is a qualified bike mechanic, so I got him to do the job (I did pay him, plus next time I see him in the pub I will buy him a pint).
I changed mine on my Nevo3 GT Vario GX. They were a plastic material with moulded studs on them. However, these had started to wear away.
Changed them for the following, which are Aluminium with screw-in steel studs.
These are slightly bigger all round as I have size 13 feet. I have also added a set of these pedal extenders to take them further away from the frame as my heels we’re catching the frame.
Both were very easy to fit, needed a 8mm Allen key for the pedals and the extenders are hollow, so the Allen key fits through them. Consequently, when you tighten the pedal up, it also tightens up the extender also.
Also put a pair of pedals on Mrs DGs bike as on one of hers the bearing started to make a graunching noise and you could feel some movement on it.
Like a good trail dog, the Aeffect Pedal is most in its element on a flowy section of backwoods Nirvana. Designed with a smaller body, this strong, durable, rebuildable pedal is made to chase stoke all day long.
