Super Commuter advice appreciated

Here in Denmark it is impossible to buy the Super Commuter 8S (size XL) at the moment. I can maybe get one in may. Maybe. On the other hand I can have a 7S now. If I was sure that I could get 8S in may I would wait, but I could also buy 7S now and get it upgraded to XT gear, new seat post and steering (more?) to get it up on 8S standard. What do you think?
Advice appreciated. Thanks.

I test rode both of those bikes back to back at my LBS here in the USA. I would say the 8S would be worth the wait as it is much more well built bike IMO, not to mention it has a speed motor (28mph) and much better components. The ride is much more stable than the 7S and the braking is far more superior on the 8S. May not be a bad idea if you could test ride both in May for a more well informed decision before purchase. Happy shopping and good luck!

Thanks for your good advice. Here in Europe the 7S is also going 28 mph and they are pretty equal besides the gears, seatpost and steering.

I got my upgraded 7S 28 mph yesterday here in Copenhagen, Denmark. It is equipped with Shimano XT and upgraded seatpost, steer etc. I rode 30 km yesterday and everything is just perfect. This bike is a beast and reminds me of some kind of a SWAT bike ?

Congrats on your new ride! This a very sweet bike indeed. I thought that the European E-bikes had restrictions to 25Kph. Does this restriction not apply to E-bikes sold in Denmark? Just curious. With a speed motor, I can understand why you think it feels like a SWAT bike. When I 1st rode an E-bike, I had the same gut reaction. Total excitement! Ride safe! o_O

28 mph is legal over here but still very rare. Until last summer you should drive in the car lanes in Denmark but now it is allowed to drive speed bikes in the bike lanes ?

Hey that is great! Open it up on the bike paths and feel 'SWAT' bike perform! I know when I test rode the 8S, it felt very stable and sure footed on the road.

Helpful info thanks all. I'm new to the work of E-bikes and I think I'm going to buy a Super Commuter+ 8S this week, but hesitating slightly only because this bike seems to have remained unchanged for almost two years (true?). Should I be worried that this model will be updated any time soon? Have there been any significant technology changes recently that are missing on this bike?

Also - many of the online video reviews for this bike seem to have originated in spring of 2017. Has that bike been shipping for that long or (like many products) was it announced then but shipped much later. When did this Super Commuter become readily available in stores? Thx in advance for relevant advice.
