Steve from So.Utah here, I have a Jetson Adventure ebike

My Jetson that I bought at Costco about a year and a half ago quit. It doesn't have many hours on it but it started to act strangely. It would run for a couple blocks and then the screen would go dark and quit. It would restart until it didn't anymore.
I tried calling and emailing Jetson but they are very unresponsive. I took it it 200 miles north to SLC to some shops and they said there was no way they could even diagnose the problem. I love the bike but it's driving me crazy while not getting me anywhere.
Any suggestions would be great!

I like the bike, but you are likely right, Costco is great about returns.
It alarms me that Jetson is so unresponsive and that shops can't diagnose problems, As this is my first experience with ebikes, it makes me wonder if this my experience is typical with this emerging industry? Am I likely to have similar problems in the future with other brands too?

I can't speak about Jenson's customer service, but most bike shops still only service regular bikes, or bikes that they sell.

You roll the dice more with brands that are small or new. That is what makes EBR's forums valuable; you can read other people's experiences with their ebikes and the different companies responses or lack thereof.

I had a Jetson and got 6000 km out of it. Now I have a Bosch powered bike with 20,500 km and it is still going strong.

I pondered a number of ebike companies but support in such a new arena is the most critical reason why I choose Trek. Lots of dealers and a major company like Bosch were key to my choice. Sure hope it works for me. Good luck with your efforts to get a resolution.

I had some minor issues with my Specialized Vado 4.0 that I mostly attributed to the build and my first bike shop's inexperience with ebikes. My Turbo Connect Display kept setting my clock to Eastern time whenever I used Mission Control and the motor was surging after I stopped pedaling (the chain even came off once). Both problems were fixed with firmware updates. They discovered on my bike that there were actually three sets of firmware that needed to be updated, so it was pretty clear to me they were learning as they went. I'll give them credit, though, once we figured out what the issues were and how to fix them (I also had a really loose axle due to an oversight by the mechanic who previously examined my bike, I believe).

The shop was good, once they took the time to understand my ebike. But that didn't inspire enough confidence for me to go back to them.
