Stealthy Cruiser EBike

LOL, yeah, it was my first bike too! That takes me back many many years!

My most ridden build is red as is my second trike.

So out goes the Ashtabula? My 1973 Schwinn step through took a lot of grinding in the BB shell.

I'm going to pull my Cadillac bike with TSDZ2 (yes I put it back on that bike after taking it off and putting it on a Dahon folder for a while) and go for a ride today. I replaced the inadequate rear roller brake with a disc brake (I had a disc brake adapter that came with the Nuvinci N360) so now it has excellent braking. I would have done this before but the nuvinci brake interface supposedly requires a special tool to remove, mine was easy to swap out using a couple bike pin spanners.

Ah, this one. That's a nice bike too! Got a pic with the disc brake on the back?

The wheels do not look like junk and the brakes do not look like they are stamped. How do the wheels spin. How does the headset feel. Is is greased and smooth? Cool bike! Topeak Versa Mounts could support the battery.

@PedalUma

Now that I have the bike mostly dialed in, it's pretty good riding! The wheels spin fairly true, everything seems to have been greased well, and not over tightened. The brakes needed to be set, and the shifter still needs some tweaking, but other than that I'm ready to start working on the "e" part of the ebike! I'll check out those mounts...

I have a couple Topeak Versacages (cages with the mounts) to hold camping stuff. The versacages might be too large for that battery but the mounts seem pretty stable (three mounts per versacage, YMMV with two mounts and a bottle holder).

The bike originally came with a rear disc on a nuvinci n171(hub failed thus the n360). After replacing the brake interface I installed the old disc.

Charging up for a ride now

Mike, That is a coincidence. I am also working on a Fire Engine Red bike right now. I will ride as soon as the SF fog starts to burn off in 20 minutes. The hydo emerged through frame from the down tube exactly where it would get mashed by the motor.

@PedalUma Is your build done? Do you have a happy customer now?

Over here I designed the bracket that is going to hold the bottle battery... Tomorrow I'll print it in Onyx Pro410 which is a high strength resin!

I had forgotten you mentioned that the frame originally had disc brakes... So you already had mounts... cool. and the hub had mounts for the disc! Looks like you're all set!

@EMGX

I like your seat too. I have all ARS except for one Serfas RX-921V Road/MTB Comfort RX Saddle. And I'm not convinced that is any better than the ARS.

I need to start thinking about bags and baskets soon too!

Looks like you had a good ride. It was too wet here to go very far... maybe tomorrow...
