SRS Suntour SP12NCX Suspension Seat-post; Not working

I need help! I have an ElectricXP and I love the bike. After riding for a few weeks I found that my neck was sore. After some though I tracked it down to "no suspension". I posted a comment did several things including adding a new seat and suspension (pogo stick) seat post from Lectric.

I was told that the SRS Suntour SP12NCX seat post is "the bomb". But I can't get any suspension from it; it's rock hard. I weigh 167 lbs (76 kilo's) so I should be in the target range for the black medium spring. They offer low and high spring tensions for light riders , blue (less than 140 lbs) or heavy riders, red (over 180 lbs).

So what am I missing here? Why is my suntour SP 12 NCX suspension seat post not working?

Is it on backwards? Take a picture. A member a month or so ago had the same complaint and he had installed it incorrectly...

John, That was it! Works well now. I found that the instructions were not clear on the orientation but you sure were.

So glad this post was still available! I just had the same problem. I had looked at the picture in the instructions and thought I had it right...but I didn't! Thanks to this post I love the Suntour suspension post, too!
