Speed Hack - no more limited by 27MPH cutoff ??

27mph cut off?? What do you mean? That is almost 44 kmh! My Neo Cross from 2014 cuts off at 25kmh, which is only 15-16 mph.
How do you make it go 27mph?

Thanks.

Here is the math.
Officially your eoro bike cuts off at 25 kmh but in reallity it cuts of around 30 kmh. That is the case for my 2013 Jumper and 2014 Race. Try to check your own bikes speed with gps on flat, no wind and light pedalling.
If you put a Nitro battery or a booster pack on your euro bike you will get 40 kmh as top speed.
It has just been varified that if you put a Nitro battery on a US neo bike (which has 350w motot compared to 250w in EU) you get 44-45 kmh as top speed. Im pretty sure that a booster battery on a US bike also would give you 45 as top speed.

hello markies...... i just got a rev tech 14.8v 6950mah 100c battery and want to use it as a booster pack on my 2016 bh evo cross. can anyone give me a few tips and pointers on how and where to wire it?

Dolphindiver here. I'm new to this forum and figuring out how to communicate on this site. But here goes. I have a 2014 Neo Race that I started modifying from the first day I purchased it. I first installed carbon drop bars and eliminated the throttle. Put all Dura Ace running gear and Carbon tubular front wheel, super light Selle Italia carbon railed saddle, etc., etc.. Weight is now down to 35lbs. 3ozs. My query now is can anyone clue me in on the feasibility of installing a 48 volt Nitro battery in an effort to gain more top speed? It seems like quite an investment but if one could go 27 or 28 mph. on level pavement, then it would definitely be worth it to me. I have the new 12amp. hour 36 volt battery and due to the efficiency of the bike and my expertise at always being in the right gear for the situation, I have more range than I really need for most situations. I recently completed a 54 mi. ride in the hills of East Tennessee and still had one bar left while riding in Normal mode. Therefore even though range will suffer, a modest increase in cruising speed would be desirable. Please advise.

Yes, it does work. If you're not pushing it beyond 30mph on an incline, the controller should be ok.
The motor will handle the extra voltage but if you strain it a little too much, you might fry the controller.

Thanks Ravi, for the reply. From the very beginning of riding the bike, I noticed that when ever one exceeded about 34 to 35 mph. on the downside of the hills the display went batty and started flashing all sorts of nonsense until one reduced speed. It's never been a problem though because once you slowed down the display returned to accurate data. So other than the fact that miles covered was not accurate, the problem was not significant. I talked to Easy Motion tech guy in Southern Cal. at the time (about 2 yrs. ago now) and his general summation amounted to "don't go over 35mph. then." Which is ridiculous to me. I don't plan on feathering brakes on a long down hill run just to keep display from going crazy. So can I expect more speed cruising in Normal mode on level pavement using a Nitro battery? And since I have no throttle (only torque sensor), and I'm always helping the motor on inclines and not trying to make it work too hard by being in too tall a gear, shouldn't I most likely be OK? I plan on calling my friend tomorrow who owns Electric Bicycle Specialists in Chattanooga, Tn. and find out about the cost of replacing a fried controller in case the worst happened. I have indeed become quite fond of my Dura Ace Neo Race, and due to my "perfectionist" disease, I'm always trying to make it better. So any ideas from other fans of Easy Motion bikes would be appreciated.
