hey guys!
i have tried both bike here in vancouver. the rad power and ncm leon cycle.
i prefer rad. the controller gives me constant assist i can pick. from 25% to 50 to 75. is this a watt type controller?

the other ncm bike has speed cut off which is annoying. in pas 2 it cuts off assist in 15kmh. making it so hard to paddle on my own.

do you know what the rad power type of controller is called? it gives me constanst assist and enouage me to keep working out. anyone has more info? thanks!

What do you mean by speed controller and watt controller?
Did you mean sine wave and square wave?
no. basically, speed controller cut off assist at certain speed. 10km 15km 20km 32km.. it became so hard to paddle after cut off.
watt controller i can pick how many watt i am assisted. 25% 50% or higher.
and it never cuts off.

hi! yes you know what i mean.
there is very few info about this.
i would like to learn more about this. and yes i would like to get a controller like that.
i am also looking to ebike my new giant roam0 bike. and want watt controller.
got more info you can share with me? what is this type of controller called?
thanks a lot!

Ray, you are talking about a controller's PAS type I think. Some are speed based and work as you describe (commonly found on inexpensive bikes). Then there are a few others that use power based PAS types, where a fixed amount of power (assist) is assigned to each PAS level, and that amount of power (assist amount) stays the same no matter the speed. Given the choice between the 2 types, most select power based every time.

The KT controllers are sold on the aftermarket only (from dozens of sources) and they offer what you are looking for. Issue is, they don't call it "power" based. They call it "imitation torque control", virtually guaranteeing anyone not familiar will not be able to find it. KT allows you to switch between the 2 types easily.

The really popular Bolton controller upgrade is a rebadged KT controller that comes with wiring connectors allowing it to be an easy drop in on the RAD bikes along with a few others. Along with the increased power avialable, comes the "imitation torque control"/power based PAS you are asking about - if I'm interpreting your properly. -Al

Would you by any chance have a link one if these KT Controllers with the imitation torque contro that would be suitable for an NCM Moscow?

You will need to be a little creative here. To my knowledge there is no direct drop/plug in that's guaranteed to fit in your available space with the correct wiring ends pre installed.

thank you ahicks. it's a bit complicated to figure out everything. i decided to go with tongsheng mid drive with torque senor to get away with this. thank you!

It's complicated at first, but if you've been through a kit install (like the Tongsheng), or one of the KT upgrades, it will start making much more sense.
