Hi Gang. I just bought a new Ecolo Cycle Mistic e-bike. The bike has an M5 controller. When I turn the controller on it automaticall goes into the P1 assist mode. There is no P0 (or manual) mode, which means that I have to turn the controller off to go into manual pedalling. I sure would like to see the screen in manual mode and not have to turn the controller off and on (which requires a 3-4 second press) to swith between manual and assist modes. Can anyone help me with this? I attach a picture of my M5 display. Although the display does show a Manual setting on the right side of the screen, I cannot navigate to it.....

M5 owners manual. Maybe you can try the 5 level and 9 level PAS settings instead of 3 level. The manual says it doesn't have a PAS 0 in all three PAS options. Does it have a throttle?

There is a reset mode P01 to go to default settings., Don't ever use it, as there are a couple of settings specific to your motor, and if you erase them, you have to read them off another bike that is the same.

Hi HarryS. Thanks for the response. I attach a photo of my bike. The controller was preset to 5 Level PAS; I'm not sure how to change it to 9, but doubt that would solve my problem. I have emailed the distributor in Montreal and they have not yet responded. I'm still looking for a way to reprogram the controller so I can use the controller in manual mode and not have to turn the darned thing on and off all the time... (and yes, it does have a thottle, but that only works when in the assist mode)

Here's another version of an M5 manual. Look at the P09 setting,
Says if you set P09 to zero, you get a zero start. Maybe that means it starts in PAS0
Otherwise set to 1 for a non-zero start,

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You HarryS. Setting the P09 to Zero did the trick. I'm REALLY annoyed that I didn't figure that one out myself. The grey matter aint' what it used to be. If you're ever in Ottawa, let me know and I'll spring for a beer or two....
