Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

An update that I’m sure nobody cares about. I talked to the bike shop about my 5.0 that I returned. They also believe something was wrong with the motor. It was a very nice bike otherwise and I guess I didn’t get to experience it as it was designed.

However, this may have been a blessing. Since getting the used Diverge I’ve discovered that I’m totally a drop bar guy. My Sport Carbon is extremely comfortable. So the plan now is to get a Creo 2, probably the Comp carbon. I’d likely be happy with the alloy version as its geometry is identical to my Diverge. What I like about the comp is the electronic shifting and extra compliance from the carbon frame. Now I just need to wait for a 61 in deep metallic blue to get back in stock.
Good to hear from you! Good luck!

You nailed it! From our Wikipedia page:
Funny to think that I, a person in love with the Czech Republic, haven't been to Karlovy Vary yet!

What I hear, the official short name of the country became "Czechia" in 2016. I will never subscribe to it. Czech people love when I refer to their country as "the Republic" as they do! :)

On the highest mountain pass of the Czech Republic, Horni Mala Upa, near to the Polish border, 2021. With our Czech cycling friend. The place is higher than any inhabited location in Poland! And it has its own craft beer brewery!
"Will they sell beer to us in this feminist hotel?" -- "Everybody will sell beer to you in the Czech Republic!" :D
Czech Republic is the only country where I can drink Lager or Pilsner. It just belongs there! :)
Whatever the first question a bartender or a waiter asks you, just answer: "Dame si pivo" (dahmeh see peevoh). Meaning 'We'll get ourselves beer'. Then, you become a friend :)
Riding after one beer mug is legal in the Republic!

A recoilless Czech cannon pointing towards former Germany, now Poland. The 1938 Nazi invasion of Czechoslovakia cost the life of a single Czech soldier there. I am sorry for the guy!

That makes more sense.

My Plan A was a Creo 2 Carbon Comp. But my stiff old neck couldn't hack the drop bars, and my budget had no headroom for a flat-bar conversion. "Retreated" to the alloy SL 5.0, which now seems like it was the right bike for me all along.

Enjoy your Creo!

I was a bit surprised with how I'm getting along with the drops. It's been years since I've ridden them and short test rides just seemed so foreign. Now after a short time, they're very comfortable. They actually feel like a similar position as the 5.0. I don't feel more leaned over and the flats are actually more upright.

I think the Creo 2 Comp is the value point in the current lineup rather than the less expensive manual shifting aluminum Comp E5. The Comp E5 also has a slightly different geometry with a max tire size of 48mm vs 2.2in (55mm). The Comp E5 is a great platform for a flat bar conversion into a mullet 1.2 Vado SL. I really like how SRAM makes it possible to mix and match (excluding flat top chain).

Stefan you made me realise I should have drunk a lot more of that spa water in Karlovy Vary it might have helped my brain!! My visit there was on a tour to Prague then back along the Elbe River not to the Black Sea… that was a different trip.

Dickhead... Don't try and justify your bullshit question mark reply now, and without referencing a single thing I said... Get to f*ck.

I hope that helps.
I'm failing to see what makes you rage - and this is such a boring unimportant topic to have a meltdown about.

Maybe take your unresolved anger issues over to Twitter where I'm sure they'll enjoy it more. But not here.

I feel I need to clarify that I have no problem with Balfes Bikes, they were certainly easy to deal with when I purchased the bike and the price of the bike was cheaper than anywhere else as well. The free 6 week check was done expertly as well I felt.

The email I got suggested that they recommend a service every 3-6 months:

Direct quote:

We hope you've been keeping well! This is just a quick reminder that we recommend a service every 3-6 months to keep your bike running at it's best. Below you'll find a summary of the services we offer - if you'd like to book in then please use our online booking service to find your nearest store and check availability.

They then listed two services: a general service at £150 and a full service at £210.

Given that my bike looks and feels like brand new, I do not think I will bother with a service until 12 months have passed (although I will have to look at the small print on the warranty)
