Specialized Range Extender Sales

I picked up an RE for $300 USD and the cable for $30 from Sierra Bicycle Supply, who appears to be a Specialized dealer. When I got my bike around Christmas, I didn't really search for any REs since I was dropping money on the bike, and the ones I saw were the regularly priced $450.

Do the Specialized REs usually go on sale like this? I guess I thought that Specialized equipment wouldn't go on sale very often (kinda like Apple). If they do go on sale, how often does this happen and what are some good prices?

Good buy, IMO. Hard to believe how much these things cost now. $700 Cdn and that’s without the charging cable, another $65 Cdn. I bought a RE a couple of years ago for the equivalent of $380 US and the cable for $30. I personally haven't seen REs go on sale either on Spec'd site or through dealers but other high ticket items such as carbon wheels occasionally. It's mainly accessories and clothing which I usually pass on.

The RE sale seems to be limited to the U.S. only. The price of the SL RE is stiff at €460 throughout Europe, and as Prairie Dog said it is stiff in Canada.

I bought my first RE in June 2021 at the equivalent of €350. In Autumn 2021, the Warsaw store got a shipment of 15 Range Extenders. ' Can I buy two of them?' -- I asked the salesman -- 'Buy them all if you wish" -- he smiled -- "they wouldn't sell for a year!'. Again, I paid €350 for each. A year later, I came in to buy the next RE; the price for the very same RE was already €460!

Sorry about that! It is strange how they choose to offer discounts in certain countries and not others. I'd imagine most of the batteries are assembled in another country and then shipped to various other places. Seems like the net would be about the same unless they ship them to specialized in the US and then to other countries.

There's also a thing called, 'Exchange' that us Canucks have to cope with....ouch.

Yowzas! That sucks! I'm sorry, but after visiting Vancouver this summer, I'd say at least its beautiful up there!
