you really don't want it as a upgrade,The ad copy on the Bosch site for the Smartphone Hub says it works with all 2020+ Bosch products. Bike shop told me it won’t work with my 2021 Performance Line Speed, and showed me a FAQ that says the same thing. What’s the disconnect here?
no but to get the motor updated you still have to take it in. I did this writeup https://electricbikereview.com/foru...ips-setting-up-and-using-nyon-and-kiox.43172/Assuming the Nyon is as plug-and-play as the YouTube videos show? No flashing necessary by the LBS?
Not sure which YouTube video you saw, but a swap from Purion to Nyon will require running the new cables from handlebars to drive unit. The Kiox to Nyon swap just requires (1-2) screws removed on the back of each mount, and the (2) cables switched over onto the new mount.Assuming the Nyon is as plug-and-play as the YouTube videos show? No flashing necessary by the LBS?
no you should nto run the wires yourself. and as you said you want a update. cant you schedule a time to have the bike worked on so you can get it back the same day? thats what I usually do@William - Bosch Team, thanks for the reply! Yes, one of the videos I viewed included the fun of fishing new cables through the frame.. I’m not opposed to giving my LBS business, but they are slammed right now and I’d prefer my bike not be in the shop for a week++ if it’s something I can do myself.
Can you please tell me what FW rev is considered reasonably up to date for the PLS, and if there’s a way I can see the drive FW version via the Purion? In addition to upgrading the display, I’d also like to make sure I have the 85Nm capability as well.
you have to drop the motor to change the wires.Well, if I can fish wires through a wall, or behind the trim of my car, I can probably manage the bike frame.
Also, in regards to the FW I just want to know how to see what I’ve already got to determine if I need to make a future trip to the LBS.
Probably, but not necessarily.you have to drop the motor to change the wires.
