I just got a pair of Showers Pass Crosspoint Waterproof Gloves.
The gloves have a pleasantly stretchy feel and are adequately warm for cool weather, but in really cold conditions I'd recommend backing them up with some over mitts or bar mitts. I did some limited testing with a garden hose and yes, they will keep your hands dry. I don't know how they'd do in a ten-hour drive in a downpour but for a couple hours riding on a cool, rainy day they will keep your hands dry and toasty.
