Thanks for posting!

I looked at the Crane bells a while ago but didn't like the brass finish with my all black bars & accessories. Instead, I ordered the more expensive Knog Oi bell which turned out to be a dismal failure. It didn't last a single season before the spring broke.

Your post reminded me I needed a replacement. I looked at Crane again and ordered one with a black finish. The black wasn't available when I last checked. Now I see they have an assortment of different colors.
Yeah I have one of those Knog bells gathering dust in a drawer too. I got this one for my wife.

This type of bell is new to me. It has a stark minimalist modern design. It is fitting for this bike which is white. The sustain goes on and on, it is high and clear.

I think these modern style houses probably look great from the inside but not so much from the outside. View attachment 116705
I actually don’t mind it at all but like everything else this particular design might not fit in with the style of rest of the neighboring homes which is just as important.

If I were to build, it would be similar to what this BC based company is doing.

That one is like the Knog bell which has a Zen- like tone but lacks needed volume and has a plastic flicker.. View attachment 116702

I made the mistake of buying one of these last summer. It cost way too much money and can't be heard past 25 feet.
A waste of money (and it wasn't cheap). My little, plastic bell I have on my road bike is FAR better at a fraction of the price.
It looks nice, though.

Pretty amazing what prefabricated houses are like today vs a few decades ago ... when they were built for trailer parks and such. But they were really cheap back then too. Not today.

As pre-fabs go, this company appears to build some pretty high-end homes. They can even barge the modules to the site if circumstances require it. All depends on how deep your pockets are.

The volume is indeed low but the high pitch of the Knog-Oi is also a problem since many older folks can't hear it.

Another soggy start to the ride. If I waited for a sunny day I would seldom ride around here. Don,t get me wrong , I am not complaining. If you invest in the proper rain gear you can ride 50 weeks a year. That brown rectangle in the distance is a barge that washed up on the beach months ago, They hoped the January high tides would free it after the tugboats failed. Now the plan is to dismantle the whole thing piece by piece.

What wet weather gear do you refer to?
The list is long my friend. I have waterproof everything! ...shoes ,boots , socks ,boot covers, pants ,gloves ,helmet cover ,ponchos ,panniers etc. I almost never leave home without a poncho in the bag. Around here there is maybe one week a year that is too cold (think snow or ice ) to ride and one week too hot ( think heat dome ). Rain is mostly just showers here ,and I only get discouraged if I have to start out in a driving rain. At least there are no guided missiles raining down upon us yet. Here are my 5 favorite waterproof items: Arctyryx rain pants ( they are pricey but awesome and never leak ) , Vaude poncho with sleeves (it has a belt to keep it from lifting in the wind and is really great on warmer rainy days ) and Sealkinz Hi- vis waterproof gloves ( these are best for cooler days), and BBB isolater boot covers and Endura Hi- vis waterproof helmet cover. The bright yellow helmet cover can be seen above traffic which is helpful at busy intersections.

So far I just carry a poncho. But I get soaked regularly. Especially from the knees down (in spite of fenders).
