And after using a cheap handlebar extension rod. The drill job was all in hand and not very even. Ignore the cramped messy garage.

This gives me a better place for a light ( I deleted the light that came with the bike) and also a place for my GoPro. Easy to remove if I want use the rack.

Is that even legal on a bike like that??

i'm a big fan of using my favorite bikes as much as possible, even if that means i'm wearing a suit while doing it! lately i'm back to riding the non-e road bike to work, and the bike room is an interesting mix, from several five figure racing road bikes to indestructible urban cruisers, cargo e-bikes, gravel bikes, everything in between. at least half are drop bar road bikes.

Upgraded to BaseRunner and cycle analyst. Cleaned up a bit. Got rid of the front turn signals (looking less like a motorcycle now), phone charger (really, I don’t have long enough rides to need charging).

Also got rid of the loud obnoxious horn, 48->12v converter. So I also cleaned up the wiring inside the frame.

I still need/want to wire in the key switch, but that involves splicing into the CA harness from the BaseRunner. That way, I flip the key and the bike comes right on. No need to hit the power button to power up then. I’m still tweaking the settings to get a nice smooth and strong ride. Once that gets settled, then I’ll cut into the harness.

I just finished wiring in the key switch into my CycleAnalyst harness.

On the key switch, the black is negative, green is battery positive, red is load positive.

So, black from the CA harness got cut and spliced as a 3way connection. That is black from controller (BaseRunner) to black of key switch to black of CA display.

Red from controller (BaseRunner) to green of key switch.

Red of key switch to red towards CA display.

Now, when I flip the key switch, the CA comes right on. And I don’t have to worry about some kid messing with my bike and powering it on while the bike is locked to a rack/post/fence/gas meter.

I take that back what I said about reducing bar clutter. I plan on adding one of these to get me out of tight spots. ;)👍

Yep, or, in a pinch, as a clothes line to dry out your sweaty togs after a long ride. 😉
Or to hang your bike from a high branch so the bears don't steal it. Hate it when that happens.
