Should I convert my mtb or buy a pre-made one?

Not sure if you are still deciding on a conversion. But I would definitely recommend the Bafang BBSHD if you are. I have been riding it for several years on rocky Colorado trails. They are silent and bullet proof. I used a small bike bag on the bottom to hide the excess wiring to clean up the install. I had the 40t Lekkie ring as it is the smallest you can go with maintaining chain center line. But I have no issue with climbing power with 42t rear cog.
Just recently upgraded to a new ebike for more modern geometry and larger wheel sizes. But really loved the performance of the BBSHD.
