Rear Wheel Removal Tip

I decided to try these

You're looking to spend more on accessories than the bike! 🙃
Did you get the tires... and if so, are they on the bike?
I have the tires, tubes laying on an unused bedroom floor for about 3 days allowing them to straighten out. I will have to order about $1100 more to equal the bike. LOL You are hilarious. $20 might push me over the edge huh? 😁

Here you go,..
Fatbike Air Forks !!

It's best to get a quality set of forks.

You'll need a new front wheel with the oversized prices and through axle, so all in with shipping you should be close to your $1100 goal. 😁

Wow, what a deal! That would do it, lol and ahhhh NO :)
I seem to remember early on when I got on this forum you guys were telling me I needed to change the tires. I realized I needed a few tools and when I do that it will be the optimum time to clean and lubricate the chain for the first time since I got the bike so tread lightly, nah, don’t do that you would explode 😁
Seriously joking, you guys are funny. I enjoy humor. This world seriously needs it :)

There's all kinds of rabbit holes to fall into when you get an ebike.
I spent over $350 on flat protection alone.

Just grab a fist full of cash, pick a hole and jump in. 😁
Yesterday I was talking to a guy with a 150 foot boat. Its dingy is 40 feet.

Ok, I remove the mirrors, cellphone holder, drink holder and displays just easily pop off their mounts The handlebars have a 4” drop in the center so the display mounts will not be hit. Rotated the brake levers where they will not touch anything and then wrapped each end with thick buffing pads. When my wife gets home she is going to help me turn it on it’s back then starting later tonight or tomorrow I am going to start the tire and tube change and clean and lubricate the chain. Maybe I will find some of that Black Gold/Texas Tea in my back yard and cover the expenses 😁
My luck it will be black sewer water,
~Jethro :eek:o_O:oops:😁

Speaking of flat tires,.. if you have a plan for if or when you get a flat, then flat protection isn't as important.

If you can get your ebike home somehow without having to fix the flat "in the field" then it's probably not worth spending hundreds of dollars on flat protection.
(but Flat-Out isn't too expensive, and it's easy enough use. A patch kit is cheap too.)

I bought some Slime I was going to use. So the consensus Flat Out is better? If so I can take the Slime back and get Flat Out.

Yeah, Flat-Out Sportsman Formula works better than Slime.

I didn't find that out until after I bought the Slime.
It's been sitting unopened on my shelf for almost 3 years,..

What sucks about my first ebike (26" X 4") is that when it gets a flat tire, the tire falls off the rim and gets jammed between the frame (chainstay) and rim, then the wheel won't rotate.

I'd have to carry the rear end of the ebike with one hand while steering the ebike with the other.

If I ever got a flat tire on a trail, I'd have to fix it before I could even push it to the road to get rescued.

Something I realized about my ebikes is that they aren't motorcycles, so you can lay them on their side without any issues.
There's no fluids that are going to spill out, (including the hydraulic brakes) so laying the bike on the floor then standing it upside-down from there can make it easier to invert the ebike.

You just need to watch your "touch points" on the floor to make sure they don't get damaged or scuffed up.

Another thing to keep in mind is to not squeeze the brake levers once the wheels are off.
That pushes the brake pads out and you'll have to push them back in to get your rotor back in the caliper.

If so I can take the Slime back and get Flat Out.

Get the Sportsman Formula of Flat-Out.
It's meant for off-road vehicles and shouldn't be used on high speed road vehicles.

The high-speed Formula for cars, isn't the best choice for ebikes.

,.. clean and lubricate the chain.

Keep in mind that the whole chain lube wax thing was just a rabbit hole that I chose to jump in for no really good reason other than having a clean chain.

Chain maintenance isn't as important on a hub drive, and I've never broken or worn out a chain on any bicycle I've ever owned since I was a kid.

I may have had a stretched or worn out chain, but I never noticed or cared.

So if you don't care that much about an oily chain then removing it to clean it and lube it in hot wax isn't necessary, especially if you need to get your wifes approval to use her stove, pots, pans and slow cooker to cook your chain. 😁

My favorite is Muck-Off innertube sealant. It forms polymer strings that then harden in a puncture.

From what I understand, Flat-Out and Muck-Off are very similar, and both have a polymer in it.

I remember reading that Flat-Out owns Muck-Off now, or vice versa.

Maybe Flat-Out's patent ran out and Muck-Off can now use it, or vice versa.
Something like that.

Ok, I am returning the slime and will get some Flat Out or Muck Off (will research the two and look at costs)
Also, knew there is nothing harmed by turning bike upside down.
