Random power issues with error code that the battery disconnects.

I have a Bosch Smart System Performance Line Speed. It has less than 30 hours on it total. The bike will randomly cut in and out randomly. I have had it to the bike shop and the error reads that I disconnected the battery completely or that it has lost contact with the battery. The shop has tried every connection without result. Last weekend it turned itself off 40 miles into the 60 mile ride. At 58 miles I was able to briefly turn it on but no error codes were shown in the flow app. The problem seems to happen between the 3 and 4th bar on the battery sensor. Has anyone had experiences like this? Could it be a dead cell in the battery?

No experience with Smart System, but it sounds more like a loose battery mount than a bad cell to me. There have definitely been people who have had to have shops reseat the powertube mount as it was just barely tight enough when new and then loosened up as the bike broke in. The powertube on my bike came with 4 thin metal plates under the lower battery bracket to shim it tighter. I actually had to remove 1 because the battery was too tight to put back in the first time I pulled it out. Go figure.

I think you have a Tributary? That makes it more complicated since I think you have to drop the DU to even get to the powertube since Salsa didnt make it removable.

Good luck.

I think you could be correct. I know to get to the battery you have to drop the DU. It is just so random and without any kind of warning. I do have a tributary.

I have seen Bosch batteries where the plug/flat connector was not fully snapped in on the BMS board.
You wiggle it, it disconnects and reconnects.
Could also be a pinched cable.
