Rad wagon rear weight question

Hi all.

We have an Autistic teenager and I am considering getting a rad wagon so he can ride on back with me. We both weigh about 170, so we are slightly under the max weight; But, he would be over the max passenger weight of 120 pounds.

Is the rear weight limit due to motor limitations or is it for frame safety? I'm not concerned with voiding warranties, I just want to make sure it would be safe.

Curious on thoughts if the radwagon would be unsafe for our purposes, having a 170 pound passenger.

I appreciate it.

I doubt you would be lacking in the necessary power if you are talking about the newest version of the Wagon, but I'm really shy about suggestion you overload the rear rack with 170lb passenger. I would be more likely to approve if you were thinking of a big load of groceries.

Let me say this too. I weigh 315 and ride a RAD City that rated for 275lbs. Have been for a couple years now, mostly pavement but an awfull lot of single track trails, and there have been no weight related issues, or any others for that matter.

Best of luck, -Al
