Putting her to the test

Tomorrow I will hurt, but it was worth it. I live 5 miles from the western shore of Michigan /eastern side of Lake Michigan, but it's a 30 mile/48 kilometers round trip from my house. Made it to Silver Lake State Park and Little Sable point and back home again. Another 35 miles on the Vivi c26. Hope you all enjoy the pics.

Well it's tomorrow and despite soreness and stiffness, I'm having one of those 2 or 3 day delays on the pain. No riding today. My quads have put me on notice the pain is in the mail. I forgot to mention what I think is important for anyone looking at this model to know. I live in a very hilly area and here is the final analysis: If you use the higher assists, you will get a range of maybe 15 to 20 miles tops. When I went to Lake Michigan yesterday, 95% of the time I was using pedal assist mode 1 or 2 and only using higher assists when necessary on the tall hills. I made it home after a 35 mile trip with 1 bar left on the battery. If you are fortunate enough to live in a more level area, you might expect to double my range in the lower assist modes. I have found the top assist levels just aren't necessary on level straits or slight to moderate inclines. This is a 7 speed bike, but I ride it in top gear only; the only time I will ever shift to a lower gear is if my battery runs out. I experimented with shifting into the lower gears, on declines and down hill hoping there would be less drag from the hub, nope. Going down long steep hills I just turn the bike off and enjoy the ride and then power back on when I hit the straits. I am as yet, very pleased with this ebike.

Glad to see you enjoying the Vivi. Nice part of the country you live in. Keep on riding!

Shift down and pedal up hill. You don't need to burn up your muscles, that's what the gears are for -- to ease the load.
It helps to have, and ride by an amp or watt meter on an ebike. You add leg power to reduce battery draw, which increases your assist range.

I'm learning gromlike. I put another 30 miles on the civi today. Thought I would check out a local rail trail. I've been missing out! Next time I'll take a few photos, I'm still sore and hurting a bit, but I've cycled more in the past few days than I have in 2 decades. Operation "get your disabled butt out there and get some kind of exercise" is thus far a success.

Thanks. It is beautiful here and I was blown away by how nice my local rail trail is. It's well shaded with native trees a lot of the way and this one is paved with asphalt. I didn't expect it to be so be beautiful.
