Hello,
I've been using my halfords carrera crossroad-e for a couple of months. during the quite wet late june/early july period i cycled through some rain and left my bike locked outside my workplace during relatively heavy rain. on returning home and removing the battery i've found the base of it where it connects with the bike is standing in water that has pooled at the based of the "holder" the battery sits in.
a) can anyone recommend a decent universal-type waterproof battery cover that can be wrapped over my bike's battery when it is likely to be parked outside in the rain for hours? the few i've seen don't seem to be as light as i'd like
b) i've read about silicone grease (and another type who's name i can't recall) and how smearing this over the battery/bike connector points can prevent some of the rusting-type damage the water will eventually cause. would this be a good step to take here or is there a better solution?
thank you in advance for all your help! Tom
