Post ride beverage choices

To be honest with you, I always finish my ride with a cup of Nespresso first. Typically, I return from my rides by car, so the "post-ride beer" is not an option. Yet, I happen to visit one of two craft-beer stores around to bring a bottle or two of good Polish craft ale home. Here are these I recently have had:

I love Double or Imperial IPAs with >7% ABV; or, Imperial Stout. I make an exception for Black IPA (Cascadian Dark Ale) that is less strong but very tasty. West Coast IPA can do. Unfortunately, the trend in the last couple of years has been to brew New England, Northeast, Juicy, Hazy, Fruity, DDH, TDH, QDH etc ales which are less bitter. Fewer and fewer choices for me. And my diabetes only lets me have a single bottle of ale after the daily ride.
Oh I do like IPAs that have been brewed with Citra hops! If you're going to only have one, it better be a good one! 🚲🍺

The Crazy Mike from AleBrowar is the best of the five. It is an 8% abv Double IPA with fantastic head, excellent colour, great aroma, and delicious flavour and after-taste. Luckily, it has been consistently brewed for last couple of years in the own AleBrowar brewery.

Cascade, Citra, Chinook, Centennial and Columbus hops used. All names starting with "C", isn't that strange?

Some wheat malt used, giving the ale a great head

Had a Miller Hi-Life last night, only in the clear bottle. The doctor said I had Covid-15 (15 lbs). Gotta lay off the beer and ride more.
A good friend in health care said it was named covid 19 because everyone gained 19 pounds in lockdown😁

I go for the coconut water like eboy. Amazing recovery drink after a hard workout.

Whats with all the beer:rolleyes:

Gin and Tonic for me, specifically Tanqueray Gin and Canada Dry or Schweppes Diet Tonic (most bitter, lowest calorie)
G&T with Blood Orange Gin. I really like Fever Tree tonic, but it's priced a bit high, so I save it for special occasions. Whitley Neill make many specialty Gins and I really like their original too. Alternatively, a G&T with Hendricks Gin rarely disappoints, especially with the suggested cucumber garnish.

Yeah, we do drink a bit of Gin, especially in the summer.

Damn that looks tasty. The way things have been, i´m sore tempted to start drinkin´ again.
I stick to a very occasional "wee dram". Spendy single malt purchases are a thing of the past. But I can still drool.

Oh the horror! Got home after a Sunday ride and there's no Prosecco in the fridge! Have make do with a chilled French Rosé from Languedoc. 🥂😉

Believe it or not Randall I had a bottle of good white wine at proper temperature on last Saturday night and fell asleep at 9:27 pm. before I even opened the bottle 😀

With the distances you've been cycling, an early bedtime is understandable.
