Perfecting PAS * Cadence Control without affecting speed?

Hello Good Folks,

I want the ability to set cadence speed without affecting how fast you can go. So like this,

All scenarios assumed on a speed pedelec with 28mph max speed.
Scenario 1:
Cadence set to 80 with maximum power assist and should reach 25mph+ easily.

Scenario 2:
Cadence set to a relaxed 60 with maximum power assist and should reach 25mph+ easily.

**The same amount of effort or energy output from the rider for both 80 and 60 cadence scenario.

Is there a specific set of components+motor that would achieve this?

Thanks!

The only ebike as of now that has cadence control is the Corratec LIFEBIKE. In one of the operating modes, you just dial what cadence you want to maintain and the computer adjusts the gearing ratio automatically as your speed changes. You increase the speed by pedalling harder or by increasing the assist level.

The Cube SUV listed above uses the Bosch computer to maintain a constant cadence. In this case, the Bosch is paired with the NuVinci hub, but can also be set to control a couple of other systems. See here: (Link Removed - No Longer Exists)

The thing is, none of these will meet the exact specs you put forth in your statement. While cadence will be maintained, speed and motor output power will vary as needed to satisfy that goal.

Anything that has the Nuvinci Hsync systen will have the cadence selection capability.

While I am sure that it could be accomplished via software with a PAS system I find it easier to control my cadence and human input relative to motor output via a throttle that has a cruise control function. It helps to have the range of gearing that will allow effective human input throughout the motors power curve also.

In the end probably easier to achieve the op's goal with a hub drive than a mid drive.

I don't know why that bike looks beautiful to me.

I will take what I can get.

Is there a hub driven bike with a cruise control throttle that you have in mind?

It IS a beautiful bike. I considered this for awhile, but decided my aging bones needed a full suspension bike. This bike with a BodyFloat would still be comfortable in the urban setting.

It just makes "sense" to my brain. Automatic shifting, cadence control...that's like a dream bicycle! Nothing for your brain to fuzz about, just ride! :D Bodyfloat already here waiting for a frame~:D
