Pedals for Vado

Has anyone change the stock pedals on Vado?

Is it as easy to change as other bikes?

What kind of pedals?

Looking for clipless.

Have looked at Shimano, Crank Brothers, and Funn.

I like to use dual function pedals with a flat MTB pedal on one side and an SPD on the other... best of both worlds depending on conditions. 😉

Those are what I have. My only criticism is that the clips have an intentionally weaker than usual spring to make them "easy release", which I find to be a bit too easy even with adjustment. Not a deal breaker though, and probably good for someone who's never used them before.

Rode the Vado out with Race Face Chester pedals and Specialized 2FO 2.0 MTB shoes.
very comfortable.
was a bit concern about the bad left knee and fixed position of the foot to the pins. Seems to be OK.

Have you cranked the spring tension? Mine seem to be fine.

The new flat pedals with pins really make a difference in quality of ride.
Feet stay more static unless you elect to move them which is good for injured knee and eliminates constant repetitive movement.

It's always nice to get a piece of gear that works for you...😎

Friends!
Totally happy with Race Face Ride, pedals priced similarly to CrankBrothers Stamp 1. The great thing about the Rides is that they are equipped with plastic moulded traction studs instead of steel pins. Yes, hitting the pedal with a shin or a calf can still hurt but these studs do not make you bleed :) Single-track tested by me! The grip of the studs with the soles of Adidas FreeRider Pro was perfect on the trail! Even on fast downhill ride on rocks (that eventually killed my camera...)
