PatchnRide

Can you even buy a patchnride? All I get on their website is a warning that the page is being impersonated. I read some 2014 stuff, and then a 2017 comment that it was still not available. What their video doesn't show is removing any bits of thorns from the tire and tube. That patchnride had a single use cartridge on it. Every patch required a new cartridge.I think they were talking $30 on the Indiegogo campaign. That's equivalent to 6 patch kits with about 36 patches.

Patching tubes is very easy. Traditional kit is small and cheap.

Thank you Rich. I just saw a video on it and wondered if it was any good. I have never patched a tube and think it would be difficult on a 65 pound bike, but I am searching for videos and information on the easiest way to do it. If I take a class at REI on how to patch a tire on a regular bike, will it also apply to an e-bike, or is it different?

if you have a hub motor you have more effort, you have to unplug the wire and sometimes remove a torque arm, and on some you need wrenches to remove nuts. Mid drives are just like traditional bikes, and easiest if there is a quick release on the axle. Depends on where you ride of course, but I've had two flats in around 7,000 miles. I do have Scwalbe tires that have a thicker surface for more puncture resistance on 2 of my bikes. That helps.

Thanks again, Rich. I believe I will be getting a hub motor. I don't want to have to change a tube, so will look into getting the Scwalbe tires you mention, anything to help diminish the possibility of a flat tire works for me!
