Odometer Inaccuracy - Stunner LT

Has anyone found the odometer on the Stunner LT to be inaccurate? I first noticed a discrepancy a week or so ago when the distance recorded by the bike odometer didn't match the same route in my car. Yesterday and today I used a GPS tracker and found the bike odometer to be off by almost two miles!

What is your wheel size set to? You can check this by going into advanced menu: press and hold up and down button for 10 seconds, use the power button to navigate to P18 and see what that value is set to. If you are getting 2 miles more than actual, reduce the P18 number 20% and then test again.

Roshan, I'm on business travel for the next few days but will check it when I get back home.

Thanks!

Some ebikers here have found that ebike odometers vary across family members on the same route, or among commuters going back and forth on the same day. If the variability isn't a lot, it can be due to differences in cycling style (consider, for example, someone who zig-zags more than another person who rights a straighter path--the zig-zagger is going further, actually!)

What you say makes a lot of sense. However in this case I had a GPS tracking app running on my smartphone in my backpocket while riding - I'm pretty sure there was not a two mile difference between the distance my handlebars went and my butt went. Although, my butt might claim it felt like it went even longer! :)

What's the difference? I like to know how many miles I ride in a year, but the bottom line is that it doesn't really make any difference in my enjoyment. Did you use a military grade GPS? Maybe the triangulating satellites wiggled?

My wife got a Stunner last week and KPH and ODO were out compared to my Voltbike Yukon and Cellphone app Map my ride . Her wheel size was set from factory at 26 and our kenda tires are about 29 inches . So i went into menu advanced settings PO6 wheel size and set it to 28 inch and it seems about right. Also tire pressure makes a difference we were running at about 15 pounds . I even took my pickup truck out on a gravel road and set my trip to 0 went 1 km and made a mark then did the same with our bikes and both were within a foot or so of my mark . Then went on a ride 34km and our bike ODO`s were out by .2km so i'm satisfied at the 28 wheel size setting .

Update checked my wifes ODO again today and set at 28 she was 5 km short compared to my ODO and phone GPS using Map My ride.Starting to think something is wrong with this bike.

Nothing wrong with the bike (besides tweaking settings further), that's just the nature of a speed/odo using wheel revolutions, cars will do the same if you don't have the right tire size.

Strava/GPS will be the best bet, if your control doesn't have a setting for 29 precisely (the typical OD of a 4" fat tire on 26" wheel).

edit: just had another thought: on the LT with its geared hub, I don't recall it having a speed sensor on the wheel... The bike may not record distance when motor is idle, due to freewheeling the geared hub motor.

On my controller P6 sets the wheel size. I upped it to the max (28.5) and that reduced the inaccuracy. Its now only about 10% less that the mileage from my GPS/Strava app. Unless there is a way around the controller setting that is the best I will be able to do. It doesn't detract from the experience or ability to ride the bike, just my OCD about accuracy :)

Otherwise I continue to love the bike!!
