As I mentioned in my earlier post, I was unable to update the Ebike Connect app to the 2.0.3 version because my Android version was too old and not supported on 2.0.3, although the 1.6.4 version ran just fine. However, Bosch must have done something on the server end to disable the old version, as it started giving an error when I tried to log in … something to the effect that "the server is down for maintenance … try again later". So I bit the bullet and got a new smartphone with Android 8.0. I just completed the update on the Nyon and the phone app today. The update went without a hitch, but I had a heck of a time getting the Nyon to forget my old phone pairing and pair with my new phone. Both the Nyon and phone would say that the pairing was successful but when I would log into the app the Nyon and the phone would not respond to each other. When returning to the Nyon Bluetooth connection screen the pairing would no longer show (although it was still showing on the phone.) After several reboots of the Nyon and phone, several attempts to stop, restart and pair the Bluetooth on both devices, and many tries of logging out and logging back in on the app, I finally got it to stick. So hopefully I am good to go (as soon as spring comes so I can take my bike out again).
I am really weak in Android knowledge, so I must have been doing something wrong. I don't have a clue though about what I did wrong or what finally fixed it.
