New Specialized E-bike owner needs mudguards.

Hi folks,

I recently picked up a new Specialized Turbo Vado SL 5.0. I chose this more for the lightness than anything else. Amazingly it is the same weight as my 9 year old Carrera Crossfire.

I'd like to put mudguards on the Vado but I didn't want the ones that are on the EQ version. I gather the rack on the EQ is required to have the rear mudguard. I doubt very much I will do the mileage to warrant having the need to carrier on the bike. I'll still do, for me, a decent distance but it will not be stopping over unless I persuade someone to carry my gear.

I have found a set of guards - DRY-TECH Fender Set on the Specialized website and wonder if anyone has any experience of fitting these to the Vado SL 5?

Cheers.

If your bike frame has eyelets, lots of great fenders out there that can probably work.

If your bike frame doesn't have eyelets, you are probably going to have to look at clip-on fenders. Those may or may not do the job for you.

I like fenders from Portland Design Works and Velo Orange, but do not know if they are available in your part of the world.

If you have access to a decent local bike shop they can be very helpful on figuring out what fenders can fit and how much trouble it will be. In general if you have eyelets and buy a fender for the appropriate wheel and tire size you can make them fit, though possibly with a little bit of work.
