New member. Planning on buying a Specialized Vado 4.0 or 6.0 soon. May consider others. Your advice is welcomed. Would be doing 20-40 mile rec rides with clubs or alone. Had a foot disorder for a few yrs and am recovering from foot surgery as I type. The ebike should allow me to get back to what I enjoy. I'm 73 yrs, long time cyclist, 220 pounds and 6'2". My riding will be central and southern Connecticut. Hilly, and rolling.

Hi Bob,
Welcome to the forum. I'm a Connecticut Guy as well, 72 yrs old, been riding eBikes for nearly two years... Exclusively Rail Trails and CT Greenway. The Specialized 4.0 or 6.0 seem
like really nice bikes. Specialized is one of the 'biggie' so you can't go wrong. I ride a Trek XM 700+ commuter and a Trek Powerfly 7 mtb. If you'd like feel free to email me at
[email protected]

I am also in Central CT. Make sure the bike shop is able to give you a definite date for Specialized to delver the bike. I had issues with my order and ended up canceling. Not the LBS fault but I don’t trust Specialized.

I'm nervous about shopping because my past experience is that all the good bikes are sold out shortly after the good weather begins. Right now I can't test ride a bike. I'm on a knee scooter!!! I usually overshop everything before making the wrong decision!! LOL
