Thanks. I hadn't spotted that.

Here's hoping that the mapping idiosyncrasies are fixed and updated maps include missing cycle paths.

not too much for me really. the autozoom maybe. my fitness goal is to ride as much as possible. the way my energy fluctuates day to day its pointless setting goals. but ya the maps lets hope

Slightly confusing, as the release notes appear to be for the original Nyon, and the picture shows the MY21Nyon.. unless the product naming has changed, and Nyon now refers to the unit previously known as Nyon MY21 and also BUI350.

It's disappointing that it still uses hard coded maps, and I hope it fixed the unit crashes I have been experiencing.

From the release notes, clipped for your reading pleasure:

04/2022: Release notes for Nyon version 3.0.0.0

New features:
  • Map view for search results: Find points of interest (POI) with your Nyon - switch from list view to map view to see the location of a POI on the map. Start navigating to the POI of your choice by selecting it in the map view. Tap the blue icon to switch between the two views.
  • Autozoom: If you approach an intersection and reduce your speed, the map view on your Nyon changes automatically to show you a detailed view of your surroundings. The speed-dependent automatic map zoom is available in 2D map mode. Activate the option under "Map settings".
  • Plan multiple stops: In the eBike Connect online portal, you can plan your tours including other stops - select up to eight from the list of POIs or add further destinations. These multiple destinations, are now displayed on your Nyon during navigation. Nyon signals you with a short tone when you have reached a destination. During the ride, you have the flexibility to simply skip a planned stop - Nyon will take you to the next destination. Please note that you can only plan your tours with multiple stops in the eBike Connect online portal.
  • Track fitness goals: This new feature allows you to set personal goals and track them directly on Nyon. How many calories do you want to burn this week? How much distance do you want to cover this month, and in how much time? How much altitude do you want to conquer this year? - By tapping on the goals screen, you can switch between the different views to track your progress live. You can set your desired values in the settings under Tile settings > Screens & tiles > Goals. Optionally, you can also access the settings via the cogwheel icon in the tile.
  • Extension of the savings screen: You can now track how many CO2 emissions you can save with your eBike compared to trips by car. By tapping on the savings screen, you can switch between the two views: Money or CO2 savings.
  • Automatic display brightness: You can either set the brightness of your Nyon display manually or leave this task to the integrated ambient light sensor. This automatically adjusts the screen brightness to the respective lighting conditions. In addition, you can determine the intensity of the brightness control in automatic mode - if your eyes are sensitive to bright light, move the slider to the minus range. If you need more brightness, move the slider to the right. Regardless of the setting you make, the display brightness is still controlled automatically - but it takes your personal preference into account.
Improvements:
  • Map material: The map material was updated as of October 2021. The map update also includes the online portal and the eBike Connect smartphone app.
  • Menu structure: A clearer menu structure provides a quick overview. We have added direct access to the settings where it makes sense.
  • General improvements for stability and performance.
Note: After installing this update, your current maps will be deleted and will need to be re-downloaded.

A changelog details new features, fixes etc. for a released version.
A roadmap details new features to come alongside a timeline.
Release-notes with both sets of info without dates released or status of release is confusing to me.

Finally Apple Health integration and Home Screen widget for the iOS App!

Now I don’t have to worry about starting and stoping cycling tracking on my Apple Watch!

Keen to see the new menu structure on the Maps screen as it’s currently very fiddly.

iOS app release notes.

iOS-App

04/2022: Release notes for iOS app version 4.8.0

New features:
  • Apple Health: Activate the connection to Apple Health just once to ensure all your rides are automatically logged in the Apple Health app. Open the settings of the eBike Connect app and activate the connection to the Health app under "Connected apps."
  • Help Center: Our Help Center provides quick assistance. You will find answers to important questions, as well as useful tips. You can now also find the contents of the Help Center in your eBike Connect app under "More" > "Help Center."
  • Measurement units: Go to "My profile" and choose between metric or imperial units.
Improvements:
  • Map material: The map material has been updated as of October 2021. The map update also includes Nyon and the eBike Connect online portal.
  • Improved value calculation: A few improvements provide more accurate altitude and ascent/descent values when planning routes in eBike Connect.
  • komoot: Similar to the implementation in the online portal, you decide whether, in addition to individual segments, only the daily summary should be synchronized with your komoot profile. You can control this setting in the eBike Connect app under "Settings" > "Connected apps" > "komoot."
  • eBike Connect Widget: On the home screen of your iPhone, you will find the display of the current eBike battery charge level and the total distance covered. We have made a few improvements to ensure stable functionality. We offer this function in connection with Kiox or Nyon. The function is compatible with all devices on which iOS 14 or newer.
  • Menu structure: A clearer menu structure in the map screen provides a quick overview.
  • To use eBike Connect, you need at least iOS 12.

Problem is, this is for Nyon (original), not Nyon MY21 AKA BYI350

Android app gets Google Fit integration, which is good. Also welcome is the imperial units, great for the US, bunot so great for the UK which lives in a half and half world, where some units are commonly used in imperial and some metric.

Original Nyon seems to get updated maps and bug fixes but not much else. But Nyon original users will still benefit from the App updates.

04/2022: Release Notes for Nyon software version 1.9.2.0 (Nyon part number xxxx xxx 907) and 2.9.2.0 (Nyon part number xxxx xxx 915).*

Improvements:
  • Map material: The map material was updated as of October 2021. The map update also includes the online portal and the eBike Connect smartphone app.
  • General improvements for stability and performance.
* The part number is shown on the back of your device (10 digits).

Thanks. That clarifies. It appears all 3 different devices are now referred to as Nyon by Bosch, as previously they had different naming in different places.

Nyon 1GB: 1.8.0.0
Nyon 8GB: 2.8.0.0
Nyon: 2.0.3.0

I’m also hoping that “general improvements” fix the Rohloff e14 start gear resetting problem.

Nothing new for those of us stuck with the smartphone hub and cobi.bike. Sigh. I've been told in other threads that it's unreasonable to expect added features to existing products like cobi.bike, but this is just rubs salt into the wound...

bosch reps have said its not going to be updated. it was almost DOA on arrival.

Android app updated to 4.8.0.10 I can link with Google Fit services, and see the other listed changes. I guess the portal and device updates are going to be here imminently.

I just updated the app. I noticed on the app my info is in metric and its in miles online. I checked the settings and I have it set right but changing from metric to imperial does not change the data. so all my rides on the phone show metric.

Updated the EBC app and country map. Unfortunately preliminary assessment indicates no improvement in recognizing cycle paths and making routes that give priority to using well established cycle paths over using streets.

Disappointing.
