Perhaps, the one thing I cannot do is "stand on the pedals" slow and steady wins the race for Me.( maybe that is one reason I get a little "knee pain" from time to time,I decided along time ago not to ruin my knees with squats, the last time squats were included in my"then" workout I pushed a stiff clutch in on a class 8 truck, my knee felt like it was disintergrating so I said thats easy to correct.the problem is that most e bikes are not geared low enough to go slow up a hill. if your only doing 3o or 40 rpms its far harder to make it up that hill then if your spinning at 80 rpms. so on a e bike you need to go faster to keep your cadence up. grinding is hard on the knees.
She had the power,I have noticed some of these female bikers have a lot of leg strengtha young Woman went by Him on an acoustic bike like He was sitting still, She sez in a clear normal tone( not with the slightest sign of being winded""you are cheating" His reply" Am not!" to Her rapidly retreating backside
Were we not all there when we were young.
standing sucks for sure. but I was able to test the cadence thing. 450 watts output by me at 40rpms and 70 to 80 rpms. its easier to do it at 80 then 40. thats why you see racers spinning so fast you can put out more torque the faster you can peddle. e bikes just don't have the gearing to spin up steeper hills for the post part.Perhaps, the one thing I cannot do is "stand on the pedals" slow and steady wins the race for Me.( maybe that is one reason I get a little "knee pain" from time to time,I decided along time ago not to ruin my knees with squats, the last time squats were included in my"then" workout I pushed a stiff clutch in on a class 8 truck, my knee felt like it was disintergrating so I said thats easy to correct.
See the yellow 'Stop Ahead' sign and the white lines at the intersection? I wonder if @fooferdoggie follows all traffic laws on his tandem with his wife. That looks like "Sears Hill" in Staunton, VA. I hyperventilate, and the O2 takes its time getting to where it's needed, along with "Low T" I used to be semi-anemic.
AHicks is on right track.Your issue lies in the motor controller. Have you looked at the owner's manually carefully to see if your PAS 1 speed can be changed? If you have the option to have 5 PAS levels or 9 PAS levels, the 9 PAS level may allow for a lower PAS 1 speed.
There's also a series of aftermarket controllers by KT. This conversion replaces your existing controller with one that IS adjustable, but it's not for the faint of heart. There's no directions, and there is no "drop in" kit available. You'll be required to use some resourcefulness to get through it. Depending on your DIY abilities, this kit would do what you are asking about....
You can also adjust wheel diameter. With the reverse Metric Conversion Trick the speed # displayed can be preserved. Make di 40% larger than actual and put into Imperial. The display number will show the actual speed in Km. Normally I do the opposite when top speed is restricted.AHicks is on right track.
Hub drive bikes typically have cadence sensing controller, different power levels are typically a speed setting. Will apply full power until that speed is meet. Changing gearing will not help you. You maybe able to change speeds settings for different PAS levels
There are current controllers that apply different levels of power to motor which gives similar result to torque sensing motor. Whether you can find one compatible with you motor will require bit research, maybe different forum that builds ebikes.
don't have to stop at stop signs in Oregon. I dont think we could do this on the tandem.See the yellow 'Stop Ahead' sign and the white lines at the intersection? I wonder if @fooferdoggie follows all traffic laws on his tandem with his wife.
I like how in Eugene all adjacent parking lots are interconnected. In places like LA there are chain-link and other barriers between parking lots. You are forced to drive from one to the next. In Eugene you can just ride thru all the parking lots, avoiding traffic. Or park at one place and walk to four. It is weird for a Californian that I am not qualified to pump my own gas in OR. At least I can charge my own battery. Here is a bike I just put a comfort bar on, rack and panniers. It is 750W with a torque sensor, and a 90Nm dual clutch cargo grade mid-drive. Today we have those little yellow flowers that others dislike.don't have to stop at stop signs in Oregon. I dont think we could do this on the tandem.
We have that" can't get there from here problem" I do not know why these parking lots are designed like that, generates many complaints, on the side of WTF, at a nearby( 50 miles away city-50K population) Colonial properties sold the mall they owned, it was a multi-million dollar enclosed structure, the company that bought it is going to erect a strip mall of sorts adding several unneeded restaurants and only leaving one "anchor" store(Belk) I predict quick failure for this venture. The biggest complaint of the older mall was "high rent". It has been razed now(at great expense). What are the yellow flowers you mention?I like how in Eugene all adjacent parking lots are interconnected. In places like LA there are chain-link and other barriers between parking lots. We have a weird climate here. Winter is a combo of Fall and Spring. Dandelions are popping up right now yet there are trees with brown, gold and red leaves.yellow flowers
strange we don't get them till about April ( I love these things they look pretty in the fresh new grass, and make good salad greens and wine.)We have a weird climate here. Winter is a combo of Fall and Spring. Dandelions are popping up right now yet there are trees with brown, gold and red leaves.
