The types of creatures on a fire road in my neighborhood. Weekly bike races are held on this road during the summer. Many students ride bikes through the park to/from school.
This Night Snake is five to six feet long. The teeth contain saliva toxic to animals, but not humans. The Night Snake feeds on animals like lizards. I almost stepped on this one. The days are becoming warmer, so the snakes are more active during the day. I almost stepped on a Night Snake yesterday that slithered across the sidewalk. The Night Snake was much longer than the sidewalk is wide.
