Mount 36.5mm 500c-h display clamp to 28.8mm handlebar stem

I am mounting a bafang 500c-h display to my handlebar stem. The inside diameter of the clamp on the display is 36.5 mm my stem is only 28.8 mm. Looking for suggestions on what to use to shim the difference on the stem so that I can mount the display any help or suggestions would be appreciated!

Try using an old inner tube or something that wont slip. Or you can use layers of electric tape.

Never thought of an inner tube.. sounds like the way to go!
