Mirror for commuter ST1

My ST1 is used for commuting to/from work for 26 miles round trip and I'm considering purchase of a mirror to improve my on the road commute safety. My main concern is colliding with cars/other bikes behind me as I may have to move over some to my left.

Any recommendation bicycle mounted (handle bar mounted, etc) mirror for ST1? If you have one mounted, please elaborate on your experience (ease of installation, usage, helpfulness etc). and feel free to compare that versus helmet mounted mirror (another option I'm considering).
Or do you think having a mirror is not a big deal when it comes to improving the road safety, or have alternate ways of achieving the same, please share.
Thanks!

I do use a mirror ( this one: http://amzn.to/1NoRpB0 ) and I find it really useful for monitoring traffic behind me, including checking on my wife to see where she is. It is very easy to mount as it just straps around the handlebar.

I also use a horizontal flag to indicate to drivers that they need to leave some space. It seems to help also. The one I am using is temporarily out of production, but there are some alternatives:

Thank you, Nirmala! I just ordered the flag. It's ingenious!

Here is another flag, but I think this one might piss off a few drivers:

Edit added: I just read on their website that the flag can be set in four different positions from vertical to horizontal so you could set it in one of the in between positions if you did not want to be quite so "in your face" with drivers.

Thank you all for sharing your bits. I ordered Mirrcycle. While looking for mirror installation videos, I ran into this on youtube:

Safe riding fellas!

I'd probably break that flag on my first ride. How do you pass cars at stop lights, or bikes passing in the opposite direction on bike paths?

That is why they made it with the different positions. Obviously on a bike path, you would put it up vertical, but I also wonder about the more horizontal positions in the real world of cars. I have a Flash Flag on my bike that sticks out 13 inches, but I might consider using this flag set to stick out 18 inches. I like that it has a very soloid attachment system and that the flag is bigger and more visible than my little flash flag that looks like this (not my bike):

The flash flag is actually still available mostly for fund-raising projects, or if you contact me, I can give you the email of the company and you can order a single one from them.
