I've borrowed a friend's ebike which has a Mahle iWoc trio controller. At first it worked fine, but now only the on/off button works (not level up/down) and none of the LED indicators come on. Has anyone encountered this before and know how to fix it? I downloaded the app to my phone, and it shows I'm on L1 but cant't change it.

thanks in anticipation of someone's help :)

It's probably a setting, I'm not familiar w/that controller but why not contact the owner?

Did you ever find the cause of the iWok trio not changing power levels? I have had exactly the same problem you describe but I am on my 3rd controller which has now failed again! I can get another new one fitted but should not have to on a 3 year old bike! Any suggestions?

I have an Orbea Gain F35, purchased in 2019. It came with an IWOC TRIO controller fitted on the straight handlebars.
Since then, I’ve had a total of 3 IWOC TRIO controllers fitted, each time changed by a dealer under warranty.
Each time, they failed after an average of 6 moths – no lights on it, and the bike limited to only the lowest power setting.
So, after the 3rd failure, I gave up and asked the dealer to remove it.
To me, it seems obvious that it’s an unreliable control.
So I now have to control the power levels by pressing the IWOC ONE button on the frame.
But I really miss the ease (and safety) of being able to change settings without taking my eyes off the road.
Does anyone know if Mahle have sorted this out and improved their IWOC TRIO design?

They gave me the option of removing it and using the iWok One button instead. I have opted to use the app to control the assistance levels, even though it requires a heavy phone holder on the handlebars with a power bank connected to stop my iPhone battery clapping out on me. Not good, but works and is reliable
