M600 Gear Sensor

Hi have an M600 with a shift sensor. It blinks red when idle and when I shift is blinks green. Even though it seems to detect the shift, the motor does not stop. I was thinking of changing the shift sensor or trying to clean it but not sure that makes sense given it already blinks green when the shift happens. Thanks for the help.

So interestingly, I looked some more, changing gears does end up cutting out the motor but for an extremely brief time. The motor does not even entirely ramp down before it powers back up. Not enough to be at all effective. I have the same sensor on a Bafang Ultra and while the green light on it appears to show for about the same amount of time as it does on the M600, it cuts the power long enough to be effective. On the M600, it's a blip for a fraction of a second and that's it. Maybe it's a characteristic of the controller, or maybe even the firmware? Tempted to try a different firmware and see if it improves.
