Looking for a XC/Trail Ebike

Hullo,

I'm shopping around for some XC/Trail ebikes, and I'm a little lost. I want to preferably purchase as lightweight of an ebike as possible- one that can serve as a standard xc mtb, even, if I just remove the battery. It doesn't need to have a very powerful motor (250w-350w is perfectly fine), and I'm not looking for that big of a battery, or any crazy features. I want a bike that can help me out a little when I'm tired, or on the ascents, that doesn't affect me when I don't need that extra power. I'm fine with either a hardtail or full suspension bike. I have a rough budget ranging from $3000 to the upper $3500's or maybe $3750. I can go a bit higher to $4000 or so, but it isn't preferred. Any suggestions on where to start?

This is a great bike but it may not be available in your size, check!

It's also available in medium:

If you want a very light eMTB, Specialized Turbo Levo SL would be a good choice but you will have to bump up the budget.

It makes me wonder, have you ever tried any of the Trek or Specialized E-bikes in their store?

I've tried a trek ebike in-store. I beileve it was the Powerfly 5 hardtail, so not exactly their lightest bike. I think it's a 250w and It felt pretty powerful already. I haven't tried out a specialized bike quite yet. I have a little bit of a lower budget atm, I might bump it up. We'll see :)

What do you think of this bike? Just a question.

The SL seems great, but a little out of reach. It seems to me that the XC EMTB market is somewhat niche?
If it is, I might be more open to extending my request to the Trail and Enduro market, if that could reduce prices somewhat. I won't be as happy riding without a battery, but I still will have a normal mtb.

I see that you live in Oregon. I have a friend who runs the North American distribution of Gepida E-bikes from Gresham. He has an eMTB (See below) and I can ask him to offer you an excellent deal so you can keep the price below $2500.
If interested, I can put you in touch.
