I just built a Radster Trail today and test rode it to bed the brakes. Quality has gone way up on these bikes. I feel that it is something I could comfortably sell to a friend or neighbor. The UL battery is semi-external for quick swaps and is in an aluminum case with a feature where it will self extinguish if shot by a gun or is in a fire. The fenders are rattleless, the paint is beautiful, and the tires are not overly fat. It is class 1, 2, or 3, depending on where you live. In class 3 the throttle still works, but only up to 20 mph. The ride is smooth and progressive. Power is lower at lower speeds then power delivery amps increase with speed. It is not jerky off the line, and it has a responsive torque sensor. A local dealer can build it for you pro, for the same price as DTC, and the dealer throws in a follow up tune and gives local support, so you are never talking to customer service for help.

Hope Rad can keep it together.
Early in the pandemic all ebikes here were Rads. Hated them then, though I was still doing pedal only.
The world turns and now where I am most ebikes are Treks (there's a local Trek dealer.)
Me, I ride with a smile astride mutant home-built ebikes. ;)
