All my data is showing on the display unit, the app, online-minus ASCENT, feet climbed, I can see it on the little animation map on the App, but I am not getting any elevation climbed data? am I supposed to? would be nice to not have to use Strava.
Its a KIOX on Trek Domane+ HP.
thanks for reading.

same issue ... where you able to sort it out ?

Currently, the Bosch eBike Connect app will not display climb/ascent when used with a Kiox. The eBike Connect app is the same platform used with our Nyon head unit as well. Current work is being done on this topic.

sometimes it does not even show gps data. its kind of random on that. where says unnamed activity there is no gps data

My experience using the eBike Connect App is thus--the GPS tracking is completed through the app on the phone, not the Kiox. Thus, the eBike Connect App must be up and running on your phone during your ride. That produces seamless GPS tracking through hundreds of rides for me. With the eBike Connect app closed, it will allow you to sync data following a ride, but will not include GPS tracking.

ok that could be I will try it as soon as the smog lifts and I can ride. its not a big deal but I did notice that, I still have to use my garmin watch to record rides usefully.

Without being completely blunt it seems like the Bosch IT people need more knowledge on Android & IOS multitasking, multi-threading & power management as many other apps can record this data in the background.
That's kind of forcing your Smartphone into being a bit dumb :)

yes I found you need to open the app then the kiox syncs every time.

I intended to disseminate the info that the app needs to be up and running---in my experience, even in the background of the phone it will capture GPS tracking. When riders have not launched the app at all, it will not track GPS when you open it up and sync your last ride.

OK, fair enough. Sorry, i was wrong, ignore my comment.

Even with having the app open or running un the background on a s20Ultra I get sporadic GPS connectivity thus it doesn't filly record my rides is there any further info on this issue or another fix coming soon?

Some rides the GPS starts in random places, so like today's ride I did 15km but it only recorded the mapping for the last 200mtrs of it when I was on my way back.

It's very random on how the connection is made, I have found I connect the device to the kiox the same way each time (turn on kiox, start app on s20ultra, select bike icon, hit connect and then select map on the app) then I go and ride, sometimes on the kiox it will show the phone is connected and show the bat percentage remaining and the GPS icon in grey, sometimes it will sow the same but the GPS icon is gold/ yellow and other times the phone is connected but no info is available on the bat percentage and GPS, any idea what's going on here??

Just come across this thread. My ebike connect synchronises GPS etc fine as long as I 'connect' before setting off; but it doesn't record any ascent/descent. As with the original poster, I get a graph of ascent/descent no problem, but no total numbers. Did anyone get a resolution for this?

Cheers, John

I've just updated my Kiox to 3.1.1. Still no ascent figures. Contacted Bosch, they are still working on it, slated for a future release. Nyon works fine (has its own GPS) but there is a manufacturing shortfall of those...

Are you using the barometric altimeter on your Garmins or the GPS elevation (from the satellites)? If you are using the barometric altimeter do you calibrate it when starting a ride? I have found on my Garmin Oregon 550, that the elevation readings can vary widely (by a couple hundred feet or more) when riding the same trail from one day to the next if I don't calibrate it. I assume this is from changing atmospheric pressure in the weather. My Bosch Nyon elevation readings seem to do that too. I try to remember to calibrate before starting a ride, but sometimes I either forget, or don't know the correct elevation to set at the trailhead.

Yep I have a Garmin too, the grade is particularly useful. I've been thinking about maybe not needing to use it any more (one less device) but no can do.
ya I doubt it. since if you stop for a break the Kiox ends that ride. some of my garmins have been bad about that. but my 1030+ is pretty good about starting right maybe it uses satellites to get the start elevation.
