Just Ordered THE FIRST EVER Fat Tire Watt Wagon!

In anticipation of having my first Electric Adventure Mobile, I’m building a Solar Trailer...
How's it going with solar?
You mentioned somewhere a charge controller, MPPT with what input voltage from panels? What kind of electronics are you using, buffer battery?, boost controllers, etc.?

Did we ever get resolution on the Rohloff issue ?
One new owner said in their write up it seemed like even the 750W restricted motor stressed the Rohloff

The new owner review was with a 1000W motor. He also uses a throttle (with limited warranty coupled with 1000W).

Technically Rohloff works with very high torque - e.g. on a tandem bike you can do 220 / 250NM. However with humans, the torque has a good rampup, and is geared correctly. The issue with the bafang throttle is that the current throttle doesn't "ramp up" the torque smoothly, so the rohloff gets hit with all 160NM at the same time. (As a reference, with the 750W motor, throttle is capped at 120NM, which is within the acceptable range).

There is a custom solution I am working on, but it is not ready yet. As it becomes available, I will be able to certify the rohloff with the throttle for the 1000W version, and will make it available as a retrofit option for our current bikes. There will be a cost associated with that option (needs custom parts etc) but if someone really wants 1000W with rohloff and a throttle, that will be a great one to get.

Count me in when this becomes available! :)

This is great information for everybody....and a solution in the works too.

In a video somebody said it comes from the factory with settings ideal for eMTB, neither of your bikes are that.
This person changed theirs because his bike is not a eMTB, says it works better now.

A CrossTour box just slid down the steps to my home basement shop. Unfortunately, we are heading for some sub-zero days, but by Friday I'll be ice fishing hauling gear with a studded tire CrossTour to review!

A bit of a delay for first ride. Weird weather. Weather sites are not reporting accurate temps. It was 4F when the semi truck delivered. -4F down to -18F expected this week, but by Saturday above 25F and golden!

I grew up working and playing outdoors in Minnesota. Then 30 years of tropics and desert. Back to MN to retire in 2007. I hate cage time. Only icy streets and pouring rain stop me. Or temps below 20F.

Woohoo!!! Thank you Pushkar! So nice to meet you! Great job on the build! It’s a beast. I love it!!!

I am incredibly humbled by your expertise in EVs. Outstanding job with the solar powered trailer.
Can’t wait to see updates and pictures of your adventures !

here a picture from the other side.

That is the first shot of this "double battery configuration" with the fenders, looks great.
Is this system in sequence or is it drawing increased power wattage from both batteries at the same time?
Over 1760 watts into the motor ?
