Just ordered my Level

First I’d like to thank the members who helped me with my questions, I know some of them were dumb but that’s how it is with things I now little about. Another group that was extremely helpful were the folks that put their heart into doing reviews on YouTube they were a big help. The deciding reason I chose the Aventon Level (I ordered the large frame standard model) were I found only a minimal amount of complaints the main one being that spokes broke easily, hopefully their customer service was honest when the told me that it’s been resolved and my bike as well as all from now on have the new part. If they are mistaken you don’t want me for an enemy. I was all set to put it on my credit card but I saw for the rest of the month Aventon had a program using Affirm I was able to get 0% interest for 6 months so the bike will cost $266 a month. I’m now making a list of the accessories I will get to make the bike my own.

I just found out that Aventon gives Veterans a discount I requested a credit for the amount I overpaid. I’m hopeful they they will do it. Some good news it’s already shipped and I have the tracking info. It’s coming via UPS. Maybe I’ll have it this weekend.
just an update, Aventon gave me the Veterans discount no hassle at all.

Don't worry about the spokes. Very very very few instances of them having issues on the Level overall. I have had only one instance, and the rider was nearly 300 lbs. They have however very recently come up with a new spoke design, with better material properties and not just thicker gauge, so all instances will be eliminated both on the Pace 500's, and the Levels, which have notoriously strong motors with unusually high acceleration for a mere 500 watt design. The issues were principally on the 500's, where those had 'comfort' tires, with more supple sidewalls, and people were not paying attention to their tire pressure, and if that gets low enough, the sidewalls give too much during hard acceleration, and a spoke or two could actually snap at the flange from too much lateral/rotational bend. Keep the tire pressure up near design (40 to 50 psi), and you'd have no issue. I noticed when they came in for repairs, and checked the tire pressure when they arrived, the heavier riders usually also didn't keep their pressures up, so that was a double-whammy. Reputable Bike shops will tell owners of non-electric bikes, to check pressure before every ride (why? well maybe you got a puncture on the prior ride, that is a very slow leak, and you cant always tell until you get out on the next ride, which by then could be too late... among other reasons to check your tire pressure every time. I know not everyone likely does that though. Perhaps too lazy to bend down, or keep a guage or pump handy ? IDK. Maybe they think its a pain ? Well a flat out in the ride 10 or miles away from everything would be more of a 'pain', wouldn't it ?) The Levels come with commuter tires with stronger sidewalls, and they are to be run at much higher pressures (up to 80 psi), so as a whole, the entire rim/tire/spoke structure is much stronger with that higher pressure and stronger tire.

Hey Brian- You are going to love this bike. I sell the Aventon line in NYC and people are very happy with the Level, it a very solid bike. The Pace 500 is also a great ride but unfortunately, inventory shortages mean it's only available in the small size right now. Ride on!

Hey Arcom - Yes you have that correct, I am Hudson E-Bike, and I have ridden all the Aventon e-bike models a fair amount and they are a good value product and well-sutited to first-time buyers. Let me know if you wanted to know anything specific.

John, it wouldn't be a project I would take up.. but do you think it's possible to modify this bike with a Bafang M620? I love every single thing about it save for the middling motor performance on steep hills (which was to be expected) but yeah just curious.

Hey GW - I’m glad you sensibly said this is not a project you would take up, because it is a bit crazy. However it is possible...with some serous metal fabrication talent. The area to be cut out on the frame would impact the battery pocket which is a structural part of the Level design, I know the Bafang comes with a monting plate but I would think extra gussets would be needed added to maintain frames design integrity. If economics are not a factor then go for it! But you could also just buy the Blix Juggernaut ultra 1000 pro which is a very similar bike to the Aventon Level and it already has this motor, and might work out to be cheaper in the end.

Haha that's for the clarity; I assumed as such. And yeah I was looking into the juggernauts as well recently. They seem to be the best of the US mid drive options
