It's fire season again

First visible sunset in a week. Thunder and lightning passed by late afternoon followed by rain. Hope the lightning didn’t cause problems further East. AIQ down to 57
Well, at least you can see it. But the colors of the sky still look like a sci fi movie...

We are supposedly at 145, but I can still barely see across the harbor... Can't wait to take off and see some sky later - it's been since last week!

Tepid little bit of drizzle yesterday morning, but the AQI dropped from 350 to 150 and the sky had this odd bluish cast to it and there was this bright orange thing in the sky.

Forecast right now is for rain Friday night and possibly Saturday, and the expectation is that will clear the muck out.

As it is right now I am taking bong hits to clear my lungs.

I´d like everyone to be very careful & watch out for ´exploding trees´. Since 1970, animals on this planet have declined by 68%.
We continue to treat it like we own it, though the opposite is true. Yeah, c-19 is bad; people are gonna die, but meanwhile the
rest of the planet is dying faster. Nature is retaliating. Guilty as charged, we are responsible for these fires, but not because we
haven´t raked around exploding trees on federal land. I´ve been watching the U.S. drought monitor for years now. It comes
& goes, but these dry conditions in the west are dues to a thermal blanket of warm gases that hangs over the I-5 corridor. We
have to replace fossil fuel!!!

I know of many peopel that harvest logs that have had them explode. it is real I am telling you really I mean really. glad my plywood does not explode.

If we don´t get this sorted out in Nov. I´m gonna get me an Elmer Fudd t-shirt that sez ´WISE UP!´😨¨
137 up from 93 yesterday. Keep dancin´

Update:Good news, wind shift, from NNW. Index falling, 50% chance of rain this pm, 70% tomorrow.
Sky slighest bit blue in the north. Bless you, Fred Astaire.

Flew to PA this morning - the smoke, though not nearly as bad as in Western WA, is noticeable and visible across the country and over here

Got to ride in the Sacramento, CA area today. The AQI was projected to be under 60 but as we drove 'down the hill' from our home the smoke wasn't clearing. Online projections were still good so we kept driving. It finally cleared up near Old Town SAC with that elusive blue color in the sky if you looked straight up. Good ride, well worth the drive.

Wildfires are still raging around the state, but a break was nice.

well it finally rained here. 1.25" all in a few minutes. it was Biblical. tons of lighting that we never see. the dog would not go out in it. it did knock the smog down to 150 this morning.

AQI 121, must have rained a little last night, but not much. Dense fog looks worse than the smoke ever did yet far more benign.
Glad you finally caught a break, Foof. Smoke map vaguely encouraging.
