Or done anything material-- something that cost time and/or money, or took on risks to personal safety-- to help active duty, veterans, or young people in ROTC or preparing for basic. Or folks working in law enforcement, for that matter. Or done any other kinds of public service themselves, like volunteering at a community center, or supporting people who do.
And I agree, Tom, it's not morally inconsistent to support some wars and not others. (Well, maybe for a pacifist or a quaker.)
I just wrote to Powerfly Lee, who I haven't seen here in months, to thank him for periodically visiting my dad's grave at a military cemetery in the Baltimore/DC area. So today, maybe instead of throwing rocks for each other, we can show some support for those who serve their countries.
