Installing rear hub transmissions for mid drives- parts and tips?

I have been looking at the available hub transmissions such as the Shimano Nexus SG-C7000-5D and trying to figure out where to order the pieces needed to install one.

Has anyone here been there and done that?

You could order from Amazon. Most any US bike shop can order the parts from QBP (Quality Bike Parts). Other stockists include Universal Cycles, or Modern Bike.

Thanks.. I will look up the suppliers. It would be nice to order everything needed online.

It is surprising to me, that kits are not sold by wheel size with the hub transmission offerings.

I have my doubts about a Shimano 7000 being torque rated for a mid-drive motor. I bought one so I could pedal when I was not using my front geared hub motor, which is 80% of the distance.
It is quite difficult to order. You are supposed to use a shop to do the conversion for you. From Universalcycles I ordered
Shimano Nexus & Alfine Cogs

Which got me nothing to hook the cable to.
After a conversation with Universalcycles I ordered

Shimano Alfine SG-S7000-8 Small Parts Kit
Fits 38 Deg. Horizontal Dropouts
72729-173313

$18.99
Which comes in 3 varieties matched to 3 different dropout angles.
Which kit got me nothing I could thread a cable from a shifter through. There was a .4" round flange at the end of a lever into which possibly some sort of random plastic bushing went, that was not included and I cannot buy. Perhaps part of a dedicated kit including a thumb shifter, which I did not buy because shimano thumb shifters caused a 10 cm x 1 cm cyst over my thumb joint in 2015-16. I use twist shifters now.
I still have no way to hook the 7000 IGH up. I did lace it into a wheel. Another big barrier, you are required to take it you your dealer for lubrication annually. The only way the secret formula lubrication gets into the hub is if your shop has a patented wrench to take the end off. As my nearest so equipped dealer is probably in California 3000 miles away, I dropped the whole thing as money wasted. My LBS has sold me air pumps that don't work, lights that work once and will not turn off, and the only bicycle they stock that would fit me has 7 speeds, rim brakes, is painted pink and has a Holly Hobbie logo on the seat. I'm male age 74 and grew up before Human Growth Hormone was invented. The LBS stocks only bikes for guys with 34" inseam legs, tall enough to ride a 57 cm frame, that enjoy riding with their necks flexed at 70 degrees backwards. I do buy tires there sometimes.

What a battle to end up with snake eyes in the end! I figured it would be a PIA.
No wonder the prices are falling on these things.
Proprietary service wrench needed?! What an idiotic plan on Shimanos part.
