INTERNAL PARTS AVAILABLE FOR REAR HUB MOTOR?

I'm new to ebikes so I have my first question.
I have been collecting parts to build one; today a friend gave me a bag of components that nearly closes my search.
The rear hub needs an internal part. It's a cup shaped cover over the copper windings. It was broken so he threw is away, so I can't make an attempt at salvaging and repairing that part. Are parts like that available somewhere.
I don't know the brand name. All I have is numbers on the hub housing.
48FF-GCR D20
033825

26 48V 500W CE
That's all I have. It was part of a build kit that he had bought.

Here's those pictures. Thank you.

In general parts are not available. Spare gear sets were available at one time for 500 w bafang.
I have one geared hub with bad gears, one with a bad clutch, one with a shorted winding because underpowered. Nothing interchanges. You can sometimes repair a blown hall effect sensor or replace the wiring if damaged. I have done the latter, twice. MXUS motor melted out wiring on a badly inserted juli connector at sixth mile.

Im not sure what this part could have been, Ive never seen a hub with a seperate internal winding cover.

I would say you have it all there, put it together and see if anything rubs.

The fellow I got it from first of all called the missing part a 'plate', and then he called it a cup. He said it was broken or cracked up so he threw it away. I wonder if it was just an elaborate dust cover? I don't even know what kind of material it was made with.

I have a front hub motor that a guy gave me. I might just try it for now. I'll leave the rear wheel and all the gears as is.
I hope to use the controller etc. with that front hub. Pick up a battery. Where's the smartest place to get batteries?
Thanks

ebikes.ca has a good reputation. I do not use them because of border problems especially if aluminum parts are used.
Be sure your bike has a steel front fork before using a front hub. Be sure to use a torque arm. I use front geared hub motors.

That's great; I'll try ebikes.ca. I get what you mean about cross border orders. I do it when I can't find it on this side or it's a better buy.
Has Amazon got decent batteries, or torque arms? The frame I'm thinking of using is ultra light so the forks could be some kind of alloy rather than steel. Why do they have to be steel?
Could alloys be used with a torque arm on each fork? I am not familiar with them...

try amazon, dont jump on the first cheap battery either and make sure it comes with a charger, rear rack battery fairly easy to install,10.4 ah plenty of juice for first try you can even get a smaller battery called a "frog" style that mounts under the seat, match battery voltage to motor and controller, get bool by micah toll on building ebikes, trail and error is fun but very time consuming.

I got my money back for the battery I bought from Amazon. Seller was btrbattery. Voltage would collapse to 7 anytime I drew more than 50 watts.
You can check for a steel fork with a magnet. No, do not install a hub motor in a carbon or aluminum front fork.

Where do you find the clutch. Could this 'plate/cover' over the coils be the clutch?

The clutch housing also has the 3 pivots for the 3 gears. It is about 1/4" thick, about diameter just small enough to clear the ringgear. Most motors clutch is on the opposite side from the coils, but the first version of my Mac12t had the clutch between the coils and the wire exit by the shaft.

Hmm. Maybe it's the clutch that broke up and he threw it away. If that's the case it sounds like it's garbage, and I should focus on the front wheel hub motor I have?
