Boeing's Dream Liner has a CF fuselage (and probably other parts, too). With the serious decline of their quality/safety culture (after the merger with McDonnel Douglas) I would be very reluctant to fly on any Boeing jet, even though I have done so in the past. Let me fly on an EU airliner, please.i agree with most of what you've said - but this actually isn't true. setting aside special editions, all specialized carbon frames, s-works or not, are the same cost within a model for each of the finish choices. e.g. all of the s-works aethos frames are $5,500, whether raw carbon or red, etc.
i wonder if all the anti-carbon people refuse to fly on modern jetliners
For those interested, watch Netflix's excellent analysis of Boeing's troubles. Basically says the profits over safety and quality culture has ruined the company. As a northwesterner, I realize the economic hit on the Puget Sound region would be catastrophic (and my cousin's wife works for them), but I frankly don't give a rip if Boeing gets flushed down the tubes. They deserve it.
