I had a strap from a pannier get caught between my wheel and fender and tear out the wire to the rack mounted light. I can run another wire but I cnat find a tail light. lights and motion has one but it is only 30 lumins and woudl cost me about 90 with a mount. I want something brighter then what was on there or i will just stick with a more normal tail light.

The Supernova M99 TL 2 claims 7 candela, which is about 90 lumens. It is really expensive at over $100. They have a couple of others for less, but not quite as bright.

I use a USB rechargeable tail light by Cygolite. I just got their newest one...the Hypershot...which puts out an eyeball searing 350 lumens. My old Hotshot Pro "only" did 200.

ya thats the problem. Mainly I am after one that turns on automatically. my bulls bike the tail light I have on always and it also has a brake light. (I had the same thing happen on the fender) but I also have a taillight connected to my garmin and that turns on automatically. I keep forgetting to turn the regular one on.

I have had both types... wired and rechargeable and I now prefer the rechargeable because they have a higher lumen output and various strobe functions.

Heres another vote for Cygolite mentioned above... they are super bright and 6-7 different strobe patterns along with long battery life before recharging.
