I have had the TCD since purchasing the bike in March. But I have always had problems getting the buttons to register my attempts at pressing with the left or right button. And I have real issues trying to press them both at the same time to RESET the display values to Zero after a ride. Either nothing happens when trying to press the buttons together or one or the other finally registers the press and I advance the display rather than zeroing out the values.

I have not even tried to change the various fields on the display since I know that most of my presses would not be detected. I don't think it is my method. I have tried merely pressing from above as well as pinching a button between a finger and thumb from above and below.

Do others have this kind of issue? Do some of you folks have units that detect presses more easily? Or is it that I have not mastered the technique? Maybe I will contact Specialized.

Bring on the advice!

The secret of using both buttons to reset the display is to use both hands. You need to pinch each button with the index finger and thumb of the respective hand. It never works if you try to do it with a single hand.

P.S You can take the TCD off its mount for easier operation.

(Lucky me to own a DSLR camera and a tripod...)

The TCD buttons on my Creo and Vado SL work fine but I found they reset the easiest if I do it as Stefan has suggested.
